I'm Still Your Committeeman
July 31, 2023
Great Republican Voters of East Penn 7, I would like to share with you some news over the last few weeks and to share how the party at the county level is being hijacked by RINOs and tyrants.
Over the 4th of July weekend, myself and 8 other committee people were notified that we were being brought up on “charges” for violating a single by-law that stated that it is the “duty of committee people to support their endorsed candidates” This is one of many by laws and duties that a committee person carries out after you, the voters, elect us.
As you know I had strong opinions about their endorsed candidates and warned you as voters to consider an alternative during the primary election. After all, the primary election is where you, the voters, decide who will represent our party on the ballot in the general election.
Because of this, I was “suspended” by the committee on July 22 which was composed mostly of proxied members (committee people who could not attend this meeting were given proxies with instructions on how to vote). In addition, committee people were told they could cast their votes without hearing everyone’s testimony. This was a totally rigged process which also saw false evidence brought against other accused committee people. Out of nine accused, seven were “suspended indefinitely”, 1 took a plea deal until after the general election, and one appointed committee person was removed. I will also add, the “rules of the day” which governed these hearings told the members if these committee people violated the by-laws, they were only able to vote for removal (which required a ⅔ vote) or a 1-year suspension. Once the votes were cast, GOP chairman, Lou Capozzi, issued an indefinite suspension.
If you want to keep up to date on the news of the events of July 22, please follow this site for all the latest stories and letters:
I told their newly formed ethics committee, this attack on elected committee people was not going to end well for them in the public view. Based on the growing list on this site, I would say this is reflecting poorly on the recent actions of the CCRC and the wider State GOP as a whole.
As a committee person, I am here to provide you with the information you need before you enter the voting booth and cast your ballot.
I will not blindly follow the party machine and tell you which Republican must be supported. I will tell you who the best Republican candidate is for our community.
I was witness to the endorsement process held by the Cumberland County Republican Committee back in February. There was clear support by chairman Capozzi, to get behind his two vice-chairs on the committee, Nate Silcox and Kelly Neiderer. While Nate seemed to be a level headed guy and outlined all the reasons why he would serve our county well as commissioner, Kelly never really convinced me why I should vote for her. She instead took most of her time on the podium to attack the current county commissioner, Gary Eichelberger and express how he is creating a toxic work environment in Carlisle, our county seat.
Keep in mind I was supporting another Republican. An incumbent Republican who has served Cumberland County well. Committee people in Cumberland County have always supported non-endorsed candidates during other primaries and nothing has happened. Nobody says a word about Capozzi holding fundraisers for Democrats at his home. But they essentially remove hard working committee people for supporting Republican candidates who they do not like. Will the CCRC support both Kelly and Gary in the general? I doubt it.
For you, the fine residents of East Pennsboro Township who reside in Precinct 7, I can assure you I’m not going anywhere. I will continue to perform the duties of Committeeman and will see you at the polling place on election day. If they want to provide me with endorsed candidate information I will have that available, as well as a sample ballot to review before you vote.
Thank you again for the 257 votes back in 2022. If local committees have the power to remove myself and others for supporting other Republicans because they want to favor their hand-picked candidates, the future of our Republic is bleak.
Thank you,
Mike
